Overview
Helion offer a broad range of cryptographic algorithm acceleration hardware solutions,
and these are ideal for enabling the processing of data at very high rates, or
for offloading these intensive tasks from an already overworked processor.
Hardware crypto engines are extremely adept at data processing, but some of the higher
level security protocols which surround the crypto processing, (for example parts of
the IPsec and SSL/TLS protocols), are often more efficiently implemented in software.
They are less concerned with the data itself; they are more part of the system's
control plane processing, for which software running on a fast embedded processor may
be a more appropriate solution.
Software like this is a highly complex solution in its own right, and for this
reason, Helion has teamed up with a specialist provider of world-class security
software, in order to provide its customers with a fully integrated solution.
